Through my work in this community, I have seen the difference that civic engagement can make, as a volunteer, board member or elected official. When this seat opened, I saw an opportunity to make a difference that benefits this community at the next level, and make a greater impact. I always lead with my integrity, and my only interest is a better West Bloomfield that benefits all residents.
There is a strong incentive for communities to pursue clean lakes policy: lake property values (and tax revenues) improve when water is clear. As a lakes community, we have a unique opportunities to contribute to the health of our regional watersheds from monitoring our backyard lakes and rivers to responsibly managing our storm water and runoff. Our lakes and parks are our legacy to protect and defend. I support streamlining processes so residents are apprised of all regulations in a timely fashion.
As a member of Temple Israel, my gratitude and appreciation for our first responders is unwavering. Their pledge to protect and serve, their bravery, integrity and compassion will never be forgotten. I support our highly trained staff of first responders who are ready to protect every resident, every visitor and every member of our faith-based institutions.
For 27 years I helped run a family business where I handled areas including human resources, accounts payable, payroll, IT, marketing and communications. and was the benefit administrator. I know what it takes to run a business, and how to run an organization: teamwork, great customer service, creative problem-solving, financial oversight and ethical integrity.
I will continue to work to ensure that every resident of West Bloomfield feels safe, respected, heard and included.
I will continue to promote our outstanding WB Parks and Rec, celebrate the new community recreation center, and support out award-winning public library. Programs like the Junior Commissioners is a credit to our families and our youth, as we prepare the next generation to be engaged citizens with hands-on experience in local governance, environmental-related projects, and community service.
I started as a Brownie leader and a room mom in 1997 when I moved to WB. I served as decorations chair for the WBHS Senior All-Night Party. I moved to the political sphere in 2016, and in 2018 I led the VNP Canvass WB Field Team in for nonpartisan redistricting. Appointed to as a Planning Commissioner by then-Supervisor Steve Kaplan in 2023, I was later elected as a Parks Commissioner, two positions I proudly serve. I have civic experience, strong community engagement and a long track record community of service.

" If you live in West Bloomfield and love the fact the the community through its ordinances is committed to keep woods and wetlands and protecting water (which not just protects "nature" (as if we're separate from nature) but also enhances our community, reduces flood risks, keeps us cooler and keep our lakes healthier--than voting in the AUGUST PRIMARY will be key. There are groups who would like to weaken those protections.... if our commitment to the environment matters--vote for Amy Mindell."
